Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

All right my fine, shopaholic friends, here it is! My complete guide to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for those of you without a fancy Nordy credit card.

When I first told you all I signed up with LTK I got a ton of messages about how you guys were excited to see a normal girls closet. While I don’t know how normal I am, I got what you meant about sometimes it is hard to shop your favorite bloggers because either they are of a different body type than the average person or it is a lot more expensive than your wallet can handle.

So lets get started.

I want to be as honest as possible so I am going to start with a disclaimer, even though it says “SALE” doesn’t mean it’s all affordable. While the deals are incredible some of this stuff can be pretty pricy. I tried on what felt like the entire store and am only sharing what I truly loved and I did not buy all this stuff, I did buy a little bit though and I’ll show you what because I’m truly obsessed.

The Nordy Card

Because they open it up to Nordstrom card holders first there are benefits to getting the card. I don’t trust myself with credit cards, travel rewards or not I just should not be given one so I do not have one. But my mommy does so we were able to see all the goods.

Next, because they open it up to Nordstrom card holders first, they get first comes first serve. This sale is HUGE and things sell out fast. It goes live to us regular folk on Friday the 19th. And while things sell out don’t let this deter you from shopping the sale, be prepared for them to not have everything you want.

I drove to Tampa— my closest Nordstroms— and I did not feel like it was picked over at all. Keep in mind, I am not a small, I usually wear a medium or large depending on the brand, mommas got a booty!

Online vs. In store

So, I’ll preface this by saying I absolutely hate shopping but I hate shopping online even more, you can’t feel it, see if it stretches, know if you need a small, medium, or large, and all that stuff. That being said… when it comes to this sale, I think that both is the way to go, if you have a Nordstrom close to you definitely go into the store but you should not not look online. There is so much stuff that you might miss in store and you can scroll for a long time and make sure you see everything. Also, when I said it wasn’t picked over, I forgot to tell you a about the shoes. The store was barren when it came to shoes but online is filled with the good stuff!

Now onto the actual try-on!

THE COZIEST HOODIE EVER

These two hoodie/sweater dresses are the softest things I have ever put on my body. I would wear it has a dress with booties in the fall or put my favorite leggings and sneakers and tie it up for the plane. It comes in this pink and black and white striped.

ADDIDAS HAUL

The famous 3-stripe outfit! I’ve always wanted swooshy pants like these. Scrunched at the bottom and high-waisted to give you the best shape ever. The crop sweater is soft on the inside and not too cropped and if you have to choose one or the other I would go with the sweatshirt because I feel like you’ll get more use out of it.

Next up is this cute flannel top and the Spanx jeans!

The flannel top is super cute and hits at a really flattering length, it doesn’t cover too much of your booty to make you look bigger and it doesn’t cut too short to make it a top top. The buttons come up to a perfect length to not show off all the boobs but not too matronly. The arms run a little small so I sized up to a Large because I’m just so strong.

THE SPANX JEANS

Holy crap if you don’t get at least one of these during this sale or just ever you are missing out. These jeans suck EVERYTHING in, and I mean everything, they are the most flattering thing you will ever put on your body. Although this wide-leg cut was super cute, I am shorter and have a kind of a pear shape the wide leg at the bottom doesn’t really look the best on me so I went with the blue-jeans you’ll see in a little bit. I got a Large and I wear a size 8-10 depending on what brand.

THE SPANX FAUX-LEATHER LEGGING

Just make sure you get these. I don’t even know what more to say, they are freaking amazing and give you total Grease Lightening feels. It is like wearing spanx for your whole leg and then making them leather. They are seriously incredible

The shirt in this picture was not on sale but I really liked it, slightly cropped and really comfortable.

THE LEOPARD DRESS

Ok, so this is one of the things I bought! I am wearing it as a dress and a skirt. It is so comfortable and perfect for this summer heat. The fabric is cool and breezy and put with a cute jacket or heels you could dress it up really cute or just wear it around your house, to lunch, or just every day which is how I’ve been wearing it since I brought it home on Monday. The taken I wore over the picture is a great essential tank to have, I didn’t get it because I have 80,000 black tops but I would have if my voice of reason hadn’t kicked it. It has a cute little tie detail on the bottom that is really flattering.

THE SPANKS JEANS

These are the jeans I got! I chose these over the black ones like these because I don’t have any blue jeans (I know I’m weird) but they are just like the black ones, sucks everything, no bumps or lumps show and are just the greatest things ever and you need them.

The orange top is another purchase of mine! Although I won’t wear them together out in public (I went to FSU and this is a little too gator for me ;) ) I loved this top, the fabric was really great and it had a cute second layer underneath that made it extra flattering.

LEOPARD PANTS + BLACK T

Ok, I’m not bold enough to get these but they did fit and feel amazing, incredibly stretchy, size down can pair with any black t-shirt or this one was a soft as a baby’s bottom!

MADEWELL JEANS + TOP + LEATHER JACKET

Ok, ok fi you haven’t heard of Madewell leave now and go look at everything because it is the best stuff every and now it is ON SALE!! I got these black jeans for just $80, they are normally $120. It is so hard to find jeans that fit well and when you do they are always expensive but these jeans will last you a lifetime. I’ve literally had my other black pair for over 6 years and I wore them multiple times a week and just walked through them like last week so this was perfect timing. They are not technically hi-waisted but they do sit up on your hips.

This top was super cute and buttoned up the back! Great detail and cut at the perfect spot for these jeans!

The leather jacket is seriously great quality, thicker than normal so it would be great for winter and so much room to move around. I’m wearing a Large and could definitely put a sweater underneath and still be comfortable.

SPLURGE

So I couldn’t resist some of the bigger brands that are on sale, one of which is my favorite ever, All Saints. This rouged dress was so comfortable and over $100 off. You could wear it longer, like a midi dress or scrunched up for a shorter look.

The jacket is absolutely perfect for fall, it is light and flowy, would go great with a short dress like this or some knee-high boots and a sweater! Look at me I could be a fashionista before you know it!
