Hamilton's Kitchen

Hamilton Holt was the 6th president of Rollin's College in Winter Park, Florida in 1925. President Hamilton and his wife would host dinner parties once a week, inviting all of their friends over to mingle over great food. These dinner parties became so popular the Hamiltons ran out of chairs and just had to mix and match in order to accommodate everyone. So, naturally, when The Alfond Inn began creating ideas for a restaurant, why not mix and match gorgeous oak chairs and tables in honor of the historic president of this local college.

Every inch of The Alfond Inn has some sort of history attached, whether it be a piece of art work or something as simple as mix matched chairs, each detail is intentional.

We sat down outside in the middle of the courtyard underneath the bright March sun and market lights. Joey, our absolutely amazing server came right over with water, mimosas, and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. This guy knew the menu backwards and forwards and was clearly an experienced bruncher so we became fast friends.

Per Joey's suggestion we started with Cheddar Bacon Scones. They are exactly as delicious as they sound. These crumbly scones were served warm with butter, oh my gosh, I could have eaten a dozen of those for my meal but we have to try other things.

Brianna got the Farmhouse Platter. This is a typical breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, potatoes, perfectly cooked bacon, and a side of toast. The toast is important, it is not your average slice of bread toast, instead, Hamilton's Kitchen makes their own bread with an English Muffin texture, it is weirdly amazing.

Courtney ordered the Eggs Benedict. These poached eggs topped with homemade Hollandaise sauce sat on top of the same English Muffin bread. Pair this with a side of potatoes or fruit and you have a fresh and spectacular brunch meal.

I feel like you all have been brunching with me long enough to know that if Chicken and Waffles are on the menu I will be ordering them. Now, this being said, I have had a lot of chicken and waffles in my vast 25 years and boy did these take the cake. Their home fried chicken tenders sat on top of the worlds fluffiest Belgian waffle drizzled in their homemade bourbon sauce. Oh. My. Gosh.

The service and the atmosphere were enough to have me running back for Sunday Brunch but the food was enough to make me roll out of my chair all the way to the rooftop pool for my after brunch nap.

Did I forget to mention they have brunch every day?

I've already made my Easter Brunch rez, have you?
